Gold Drum and Bugle Corps was founded in Hawthorne, CA in 2005. The group was formed to expose local students and young adults to a positive youth activity. The corps relocated to Oceanside, CA in 2010 in order to expand its service to the entire Southern California region. Since then Gold has grown rapidly, appearing every year at the Drum Corps International World Championships, and has become a fan favorite in the drum & bugle corps activity.

Gold has performed at numerous cities and venues across North America, including the Rose Bowl Stadium, Stanford Stadium, Marshall University in West Virginia, Center Parc Credit Union Stadium, in Atlanta, GA. and Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
