{"id":2159,"date":"2026-09-17T02:08:07","date_gmt":"2026-09-17T02:08:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.goldyoutharts.org\/drumcorps\/?page_id=2159"},"modified":"2026-09-17T22:37:13","modified_gmt":"2026-09-17T22:37:13","slug":"what-are-you-looking-for-when-i-audition","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.goldyoutharts.org\/drumcorps\/faqs\/what-are-you-looking-for-when-i-audition\/","title":{"rendered":"What are you looking for when I audition?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Auditions will give the staff an idea of your music, marching, movement, and equipment handling skills.&nbsp;We will also be looking at several other factors, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Positive attitude<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work Ethic<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Commitment to effort<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to focus and follow directions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to learn excercises<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to process information and instruction and apply it to exercises<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to handle constructive criticism in a positive manner&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interaction with other auditionees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to attend all camps, rehearsals and performance events (flexibility is allowed due to school commitments but this IS our expectation, and prior communication is key).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to an audition in a rehearsal setting, each prospective member will also be interviewed by the appropriate caption head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our marching member Code of Conduct can be&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.goldyoutharts.org\/drumcorps\/member-staff-safety\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"2172\">found here<\/a>. This will give you an idea of our organization\u2019s expectation for its members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Enjoy yourself! Stay positive, our staff wants you to succeed!
